Hello there!

David Kean asked me to post the following:

Hello all,
I want to let you know that a dear friend and ardent Mellotron aficionado
passed away this last Saturday.
Doug Ferguson was one of my earliest clients and, as happens so often in
this wacky business, became a close friend over the years. His fascination
for the Mellotron was true to both the idea of the design and the intention
of it's inventors, he commented frequently on how he wondered at the
engineering behind the instrument and whether the inventors realized how
much impact they would have on the music world.
Doug was responsible for introducing me to many of the more obscure bands of
the 70's that used the tron; Spring, Il Balletto, Wind, Lift, Celeste and
many others...his own music CD's showed up once or twice a years with tons
of great playing and the tron up front and center.
His support for other tron users was born out of both excitement for it and
, mostly, a need for friendship from like-minded individuals like
yourselves.
Spare a moment of thought for him, with an eye towards this rare common
ground that we share.
I'll miss him a great deal.
David T. Kean
