From: "Pomeroy Ranch" <punchbowl4@...>
Date: 2004-02-12

Thanks tothis wonderful list (and Dick Greener’swonderful Strawbs list - http://www.strawbsweb.co.uk), I decided to ask John Hawkenabout the tron sounds he used on Hero and Heroine. Here is his answer:

>Thanksfor the e.mail - glad you've enjoyed some of themusic I've been involved with down the

>years.

>Luckyyou, located in "Mellotron Heaven" on theWest Coast - I STILL regret parting with my 400

>(and my Mini Moog) when I left England in 1979.

>As forthe sound on Hero & Heroine, I only recall using the Brass tapes, no organ.Of course, my

>memorycould well be at fault - after all, it WAS 30 years ago.

>I havejust today received the Mike Pinder Mellotron CD ROM - a gift from my friend & webmaster

>Ron Linderboom. I will be using it on the proposed Strawbs re-union tour later this year. Hopefully,

>we shallexperience all the great sounds but none of the quirky reliability of the realthing.

>Bestregards

>John Hawken

What brasstapes/sounds would he have used?
