The correct length is where the tapes are just under tension when the back bar is in the storage position in the front of the frame. This allows for any difference in configuration between frames i.e. Markus offers extended playing time where available and our new frames have a revised lower spring bar position. This normally translates to six feet approx. in imperial terms.
