How do you know that they were presets (by which, I assume, you mean
factory programmed patches)?

How do you know that Rick didn't programme the sounds himself?

How do you know that they were all generated digitally?

Why am I bothering to send this?

Why did I resubscribe to this forum?

Oh yes... and ... correct me, but doesn't a Mellotron doesn't play
preset sounds???

Why give the guy a hard time? Rick's keyboard sounds were (largely) crap,
although he was the star of the show. You know there's plenty of us who
aren't over-keen on the majority of modern
digital/sample-based/pseudo-analogue keyboard sounds - that's why we own
Mellotrons.
