Since being in this music business in some form since 1971 it is
comforting to know that some things never change. My friend Stewkey may
get a liver but not a penny from singing for the Nazz.

However Jeff Coulter and I did muse on all of the time we spent playing
this music on the radio, Diaspar , Stars End, Echoes, and way more and
the records we paid for or produced: My favorite Two Rainbows Daily
(Red Music UK). Ah, Yochko and Francious ethnic duo. Phil Miller and
Alan Gowan falling out on my girlfriends bed after I gave them each a
desoxsyn.. Cooking for Pip and Greaves.. Talking to Archie Patterson
on the phone every week. Paganotti at Giorgios loft looking for me
because I played Weidorje on US radio. Playing the only copy of
Incantations in the US on xmas day after flying home from London so
that John Diliberto (my only best friend ever) could spend the holiday
with this family. ZU band Zu Tour, Manifestival .Going to to real
festivals.

The point , apparently a semester at a UK style Public School is still
the only thing that makes a gentleman. A clean hankie, pocket knife
keeping your word, no matter how small.

Gino Wong (speaking for and with Jeff Coulter, I'm sure)

Subject: [Mellotronists] Mellotron restoration

Hi all,

I am in the midst or restoring two mellotron 400s from the ground up
and of
preparing a total of three to be used by Anglagard at NEARfest at the
end of
June. One thing I did was to send the headblocks back to Streetly to
have the
Azimuths reset while I was tearing the other machines apart for complete
overhauls. A HUGE improvent in sound quality resulted. I highly
recommend this. It
was simple to do, the turn around was only a day or two and they were
back. If
you think your Mellotron sounds good now and you have never had the
azimuth
adjusted, your'e missing out.

If you wonder why you can't get your machine to sound as pure and clear
as it
should, this is probably a big part of the reason. As you all may know,
Martin Smith is the main flunky at Streetly when you contact them (just
kidding,
Martin, if you see this). His help has been immeasurable (well, it is
measurable, but it's way up there, I assure you).

Last of all, I have a complete set of photos of the work in progress if
anyone has interest. Please email me directly.

Also, you can contact Martin at TronBros @ aol.com or go to the Steetly
website:
http://www.members.aol.com/tronbros/index.htm

Or you can get his phone number off of the website and phone him. It
has been
my experience that he loves to be telephoned right at dinner time or in
the
evening after he's knocked a few back at the local pub (he is most
vulnerable
at this time). So remember the time differential when phoning.

1334)
