Probably because he can't!
He is a singer and not a musician. I forgot he plays piano probably because it's as boring as he is.
Most of the music I listen to is instrumental, and probably 95% British or European.
Tangerine Dream is a fine example.
Freebird must hold some records (no pun) for running too long.
It's like a bad dream that just never stops.
On those rare occasions when I'm not listening to a fav CD and the radio is on Freebird doesn't get past the first few bars before I switch to another station, disgusting crapola I can live well without!

Ditto!  At least Manihole never defiled a Mellotron (that I'm aware of), but a curse on Skynyrd for defiling one in that God-awful, cretin-worshipped, perennial drunken frat-boy request, "Free Fucking Bird"!
