I'm getting to the point these days where I am so accustomed to the individual idiosyncrasies of Mellotron notes (particularly 3violins) that I can tell what key music is in just by the intonations, tuning irregularities, timbral differences, vibrato rates, and all of the other little unique characteristics of each little eight-second performance. Does anybody else find this observation familiar?
And by the way, where is Andy to weigh in on this Bobby Darin/Chamberlin controversy? Somebody fire up the searchlight with the big M and shine it on the clouds, see if we can get a definitive answer here! ANDY!!!! We need you!
