I'm also a long time fan/listener too and see them live for the full effect of "Snakes and Arrows'.Brilliant work from a band that never ceases to entertain me!Geddy Lee had a Korg X7 with a Moog Phatty on top, so who knows what the X7 was controlling. His bass work was more predominant than ever, if you can imagine that!I admit to being highly biased, but they blew me away in every respect.Tony#510Tampa----- Original Message -----From: Jim AndersonTo: MellotronistsSent: Sunday, July 01, 2007 10:35 PMSubject: [Mellotronists] RushI just picked up the new Rush album "Snakes and Arrows". Having been
a listener of theirs since way back (even if they are Canadian! ;)
I'd been disappointed in the last few albums but the new one is
surprisingly better. Also surprising is their use of a mellotron one
of the tracks. On the Special Edition that I picked up there is a
video where Geddy Lee says it's probably the first time they used one
since a song called "Tears" from 2112. The video shows Geddy
recording the tron strings on and talking about it's qualities
(unfortunately it's mixed way down on the final product...).
