Hi Bernie,
A couple of years ago Martin made up a frame containing M400 violins
at my request despite him telling me I wouldn't like them. He was
right I didn't like them and so he kindly made up a replacement set
with the original MkII violins free of charge in exchange for the
earlier set. It seemed to me the M400 violins have a very restricted
sound still with a lot of edge and bite and very clear but were very
boring and lacking in the spacey character of the Mkii sound. It just
didn't sound very tronny. I'm glad I changed back.
