Inthe early nineties David Kean
managed to buy(and rescue) both the American and the English parts of the
Mellotron Tapelibrary and spare parts stock. At that time hardly anybody
was interestedin Mellotrons,This isan interesting one. I contacted Les in September 1989 and met Johnat the same time. If I had been just a little quicker in making contactI KNOW that the Streetly stock would most definitely have stayed in England. It is presumptuous to assume that DK was the only person interested. It was just a matter of timing. How appropriate.

Mellotronists-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.comGreetings All, My finaltuppence worth on the issue of Mellotron production.
Let's not forget the"Dangerous Maytag" produced by Mellotron-USA from
1981-1982 . Four unitsof Mellotron 4-Track were produced,though a recent
conversation withBob Kinney of Bomar indicates only three were made.
That enterprise alsoofficially owned the Mellotron name, purchased from
Bill Eberline of SoundSales......A matter of timing.Precisely,Martin. I was lurking behind the scenes intensely
at that same timeframe 1988-1989. But due to finances,I was unable to make the
move which Dave Keancommenced at that time. History cannot be undone or
rewritten despiteany attempts to do so.Streetly also had alook at a 4-Track model, relinquished by Dave Kean and made
available to RobertLaughton of CAL. This MC was sold by RAL for an undisclosed
amount to an ItalianMellotron collector. So I can unequivocably state that Streetly
has indeed servicedEVERY model of EVERY source/vintage.....'Nuff said. .......JK.....MARK-I#124 (formerly of RAL), M300 #037 (formerly of DK),
