Yeah, it was the second concert I ever attended. The first was The Dave Clark Five. Opening acts for them were Bobby Comstock and the Counts, Little Anthony and the Imperials and The Shirelles; hosted by Murray the K (self-proclaimed fifth Beatle).

I've wondered about him before - I mean, the GALL of the man! Were the band's genuine reactions to his arrogance ever recorded? So he played 'em on the radio. And...? If there was a 'fifth Beatle', it was obviously George Martin.

The Kingsmen were my favorite band at the time. First time I ever saw Sunn amplifiers, developed by the Kingmen's bass player, Norm Sundholm. They played all their hit \":)\". The drummer played so hard that he broke his Ludwig bass drum pedal in half (that's kick drum for those who are too young to remember). Ringing ears was a new experience to me \":O\".

Must've been pretty cool  :-)   Who said punk was a late-'70s thing?
