It appears to be SN 863 and from a cosmetic viewpoint, not the

Any opinions from the more experienced out there?

Hi John and Gang,     M400/863has an SMS board . "4" , Markus ?
Motor support loose on RH side. Can't tellif "L" brackets are loose
or not.   Best to assume stuff isknackered and improve the situation
from that perspective.

Cosmetically, all those of us with Mellotronsplinters in our hands
have seen worse. Floor-pan could be warped/looseor both.

Y'all see that stain just above the flywheel?  Beer, grunge, or  (ugh..) ?
#863 is a good candidate for full refurb . Haven't seen any
Sound Sales stickers anywhere....whew !

Good Luck all bidders !
