Subject: To component supplier employees

Does anyone here work for a component supplier?
All this talk of people building their homebrew CNC rigs!
(I'm also working on my own CNC mill presently)
All this gave me an idea - there'd be an opportunity for a component
supplier (or related merchant) to launch a competition, with the aim of
getting positive company exposure and goodwill:
- design the cheapest reliable CNC rig
rules:
- design must work
- all parts must be bought new, and available on the net from existing
merchants, and anly merchants who are willing to ship to anywhere in
the civilised world
- must not require any unduly specialised tools to build
- must be well documented
- must be capable of being assembled and commissioned in less than
approx 20 hours, by someone reasonably competent (subjective judging
needed here)
winner is the design that meets the above criteria for the lowest parts
cost (not including shipping cost), in US$
Any takers?
