I'd say yes, I have only had a few goes myself, I picked up an old hp4l from a car boot sale(bring your own yard sale) and had good transfer first time with it with some asda(Walmart) georgia pacific inkjet paper and the wifes iron which I think is also about 1200 watt
just bought a cheap laminator(aldi) but not tried it yet.
