You can use foam rubber to rub the paper off.
It doesn't work that much better than a toothbrush.
For mounting that steel plate, i'd use 2 flat steel pieces (or angeled to
prevent bending) over the lid with screws to the
edges of the plate. I'd place rubber under the flat steel and tighten the
screws to prevent
moving of that plate.
You probably know aluminum plate would be better but is harder to get.
well, good luck.. oh, yes, 2 minutes sounds very long to me.
It definitely isn't that long in my fuser.
