Have seen that in some led voltmeters to change range.
thought "must remember" back then.
My fluke meters also use a socket with several resistors beside each other
for a similar purpose.
serial "break out boxes" for pc etc. use often sockets and wired to wire
up.


many things you can do with these for sure...
