I got some polyimide tape from ebay and noted that it was tagged KOPTAN on a label on the tape. Noting the 3M name is KAPTON The EBAY tape is $2.59 per 100 foot roll. The MOUSER price is $64 a roll.
It worked fine for me... held parchment paper to an 8x11 paper in the laser printer without melting.
