New to this group, I also am trying to doa pcb for the first time with toner transfer.

But I am from the dim state of California and we havebeen determined by the nanny state to be too stupid to use xylene, Toulene, haveethyl alcohol,  brass pipefittings, MEK, or decent PVC glue.

But as of a few daysago we were still able buy 99% isopropyl alcohol in a gallon at the hardwarestore, but no longer  in a user friendly pint to clean a few solder jointsat the drugstore because the drug makers are buying all the pints to get agallon or two.?

So far I tried a few times with 99% isopropyl alcohol and Acetone at 8:1 but got onlypartial transfer and did not try any etching

Just got a can of denatured alcohol (I didnot like the label, a “greener” kind at home depot)  to alsotry.

Klean-Strip Model # QKGA75003 Internet # 202249513 Store SKU # 519891 1 qt.Green Denatured Alcohol

Thanks for the tip on finding the natureof the toner.

I am using a cannon MF6500 printer thatseems to have a mixture now but have a few other printers that I can check and try

Sty rene acrylate copolymer     70-8%

Wax                                         5-15%

Polyester resin                         5-10%

Carbon black                            1-7%

Thanks for the details in this thread sofar.

I am interested in any good or bad, proportionsof the California ’slimited chemicals, 99% isopropyl alcohol,“green” denatured alcohol and Acetone that anyone has tried.
