The punch and dies you used where they hardened steel?

And nowadays there are non glass fiber pcb substrates available.

Using punch and die to make holes in a PCB is a very bad idea. I was using that method a previous job to cut and punch holes in PCBs for automotive use, and we got rid of it very fast. punch and dies are wearing so fast that we needed to resharpen them every week. The glass content of a PCB is very high and very abrasive to any kind of tool. We switched to a router with nitride coated bit and got rid of our problems.
