I also have used a Dremel stand to drill PCBs with mixed results. IMHO, the problem with the Dremel may not be the stand, it may be excessive runout and worn bearings in the tool itself. The stand I have is a model 225
http://www.flickr.com/photos/wb8nbs/9005741727/which works very well with little play. It is somewhat rare. I also have a model 210 which shares the clamp-the-tool-and-move-the-table design but is less precise. This design has fewer places for slop to accumulate than the type of press that holds the table and moves the tool.
