I use the 0.4/0.6, 0.6/0.8 and 0.8/1.0mm ones, but my preferred ones (for my high density SMD PCBs) are the 0.4/0.6mm rivets which are used with outer pad diameter vias of 1.01mm (40mils)

Please take care that those 0.4/0.6 rivets are really small and they are not so easy to handle, even with excellent tweezers like Lindstrom ones!

I do not use the rivet press: it is outrageously expensive!
I was thinking to create a small riveting press using broken tungsten carbide drills grinded with diamond wheels to emulate Bungard's ones:
