About conical nozzles not having an uniform etch, Im not sure how much this is a problem, Bungard uses it on their splash center/xl machines and they claim a 100 microns (4mils) resolution. Just see the video.
However full cone nozzles are not the same as the one used on the instructables, those produce a mist and a serious cone should produce a much greather particle size.
