Al Willimas of Al Willimas books fame (PIC And STAMP) posted a note
on the BasicStamps list about a way to add silkscreen.

Actually, if you really want to do a nice job -- go to a craft or art
supply store and get "water slide" paper. You can print on it with a
laser printer and make a decal like you put on model cars, airplanes,
etc. Of course the legend will be black but very sharp. The decal is
very thin so component leads push right through it and the plastic
vaporizes under heat so if you have any top-side soldering it will
still work.

This is a real life saver when you have had 500 boards made and they
forgot to image the silk screen layer :-) Um, not that I've ever done
that, no no!
I'll deny it to the end.

If you are highly motivated, get time on an ALPS printer which can
print in white. There are ink jet water slide papers too but I
haven't tried them.
