Here is a website detailing a very low cost Lowell Laminator and the necessary mods.  http://ultrakeet.com.au/index.php?id=article&name=superFuserV2

They claim 1.6 mm (0.062") PCB thickness is OK and you need to replace the thermal fuse and thermostat.

On the surface, Lowell appears to be for the Australian market.

The unknowns for these devices (other than availability) are the

thickness they will hande and the temperature limits. It appears the

Howell has been successfully hacked to do exacty what we need. Since I

have had some success with iron on toner transfer, the pressure is off

for the moment. If someone takes the lead (and the expense) to develop a

model available in the US I will probably follow.
