My wife bought me a new Brother MFC-7340 if I am recalling the model number right. Would this work to thermal transfer with like the laser jet or do I need to find another laser jet?? Sorry if I didn't search very well I apologize now. Thanks for the help tnmedic

Have you opened it up to have a look? Surely if you're etching PCBs you possess a multimeter, soldering iron, and some basic electronics knowledge?

I fixed a number of different HP Laserjet printers back in the day. It's been too long to remember the details of specific faults, but it seems like bad electrolytic capacitors and cracked solder joints in the power supply were fairly common. Always liked those units, they were good printers, real workhorses that were worth fixing.
