FYI -- spinner construction details.
The spin coater recently built was constructed from a 4"x4" computer fan. I found one with a metal frame at the local surplus outlet, would guess a plastic frame fan would also be fine.
I cut the housing frame down from its normal 1" thickness to about a 1/2" then I cut all the blades off the hub. Screwed what remained of the housing to the bottom of the splash guard box. I cout out about a 6' dia piece of aluminum for the spinner table and bonded it to the the fan hub with some JB weld epoxy (don't use the quick setting stuff as the bond is not very good). Make sure you get it centered so you don't have to do too much balancing later on.
An old wall wart for power and a push button the regulate the speed. Once you spin a couple you will know by the sound and look that you have the correct speed.
