I did, BTW, get around to trying "magazine paper" (in my case the Virgin Australia in-flight mag) - found a few clean white sections to use for a smallish board - and for those who have not used it:
it seems to work the same as "plain-paper glossy" (presume the Staples and HP Pres are like this) but being much thinner doesn't trouble you as much in the removal.
The actual transfer quality was the same - it can't do miracles and get 1mil traces out of my 16 y.o. laser, but hey!
