I can't answer about how it compares to the Hammermill paper but I can say after using several other brands, Kinko's, Office Depot, etc, as well as the Pulsar paper, that, as the previous poster said, it doesn't "fall off" as well as the Pulsar, if the toner is heavy enough on the paper it falls off in one piece with little residue remaining behind. Additionally, I believe that the toner transfer is actually better, or at least as good as the Pulsar. I am able to get 7-8 mill tracks with 7-8 mill spacing repeatedly with very few track wash outs. The key seems to be getting a really dark print. The way I have been doing this is to print the pcb from Eagle to my color HP laserjet, in black of course, then using a copier to get it onto the staples transfer paper. I just noticed that on a 2 sided board I made a couple days ago that one side printed a little lighter on the HP...must be running low on toner...and the Staples paper didn't wash off the board as cleanly on that side.
One additional comment/observation: the pulsar paper stretches in the long direction. This is not a real problem unless you are doing double sided boards and using a mill or router to drill the holes, like I am doing. On a board more than a couple inches long the stretch is too much for fine pitched work. The Staples paper doesn't seem to stretch as much, if at all.
Good luck, and if you try the Hammermill let us know how it works.
