The best way I found was to pass the sandwich through a laminator once or twice to adhere the toner to the copper. Then put your sandwich on top of a newspaper, then a couple of sheets of kitchen paper, Then just rest the iron on top of that (on Cotton setting, no steam), for a couple of minutes. Then you can (carefully) re-visit the laminator for a few passes to iron it down.
Of course, you'll have to experiment a little to get the exact timings and iron temp.
