Exactly! Thank you, Peter, well said. I, too, have left several lists where off-topic chatting overwhelms the purpose of the list.
Mark, you can join or not join any list you wish. The list description has been there since the list started, if you don't like it you should not have joined.
I never said I owned the internet, nor did I tell you what you can or cannot do elsewhere. However, I do run this list, I try to be as hands-off as possible. But I'm not going to allow the list to be overrun with off-topic stuff, nor do I allow name-calling. You are now moderated.
I am now using my ghod-like moderator powers to say that this topic is closed. I'd rather allow off-topic threads like this to simply fade away, but this one is looking like it is going to be one of those shambling undead zombie threads that won't die.
