I have tried using a toner transfer method using gloss paper through a laser printer, but have failed because of not being able to adequately get the toner to transfer well. Using an iron is just too iffy as compared with the more commercial approaches. What I haven't tried are some of the dedicated transfer papers, but am reluctant to do so because of the marginal transfers I've previously experienced. Concept is great, execution, well, not so good. What else should I try? Please understand that a majority of my work involves mssop's, soic's etc. I need fine lines.

I use negative acting dry film photo resist with excellent results. The boards I make for my products are fairly small with surface mount components. The batch size is 200 to 500 pieces with almost zero rejects. Once the process is fine tuned these results are easily obtained on a consistent basis.
