I reckon the araldite would cost you a few dB of refraction/
reflection. I guess I can easily test on one of the 5x0603 LED with
header pin breadboard testers I made.

I was a glazed-eyed teenager the last time somebody told me about RC
networks, but I fooled with assembler for at least 15 years. It was a
no brainer, those things are insane!
