I wonder if red's reflow oven controler couldnt be adapted (in fact, I'm
pretty sure it will work)

be done via the windows interface of your computer, or, in "stand alone"
version, with an I2C driven lcd/keyboard.
The firmware is not "open sourced" but delivered freely by the author to
whom may ask for it.
