You overexposed.
Use the most dense setting on your laser printer.
It'll have holes. Idea is to get the exposure to the point where the
holes are not all the way through, but the clear traces are.
Suggest test exposures with about 15 to 30 second steps up to about 3
minutes.

You can make your own, but it takes a bit of minor effort.

Toner transfer works fine, but with different results. You need to
dump more money in at the start, but the boards are cheaper.
