There was a nice set of plans in September 2007 issue of Everyday
Practical Electronics magazine Vol.36 No.9. It was called a
"Programmable Flextimer". Uses a PIC16F84A. The .hex file is available
from their WEBsite; no source though 8:(. It was a reprint from
silicon chip magazine.
