Subject: Moving flatbed table or gantry ?.

I took apart an Epson C42 printer this afternoon and it occurred to me
that perhaps the best approach to making a UV PCB printer was, instead
of modifying an existing printer into a flat bed .... it might be
simpler to build one from scratch. It would also allow a removable
print head assembly.
My question .... is it better to move the table or the print head
'gantry'. It seems that perhaps a moving table could have less mass
than a moving gantry.
Also has anyone actually succeeded in producing a working UV flatbed
using the Epson print head ?. Would like to contact anyone who hs
tried it.
