Thanks to all responders! I ended up finding the problem and yes it
was stupid. Too many hours in front to machine, nuf' said.
For the printed (to file or paper) res I think I'm OK, but anything
smaller I would probably need to consider the suggested method to gain
better trace 'crispness', so am going to look into the suggested
