I had a goofy idea once that I never followed up on. Using a camera
strobe with the UV filter removed to expose photosensitive boards.
The plan was to calibrate the number of flashes required. Speed
would be an issue as the bulb will crack or explode if fired too
often, and aging of the bulb. The plan was to use a relatively
large strobe tube to cut down on the number of flashes required.
I also thought about drawing them huge on a piece of paper and
using a Polaroid instant camera to reduce it. Obviously limited on
the size of the PCB and almost impossible to do double sided. Of
course the lens only lets through a tiny bit of light, really, even
with the iris open all the way.
I think the strobe light idea had more merit.
But in the end I never tried it because I found an incandescent
reflector Gro Light bulb worked just fine. I think I had it about
18 inches from the board. I don't recall exact exposure times but
somewhere around 3 minutes, give or take.
