Subject: Small heater plates: Anyone Interested?

I have an opportunity to get my hands on some small
surplus Heater plates (elements) roughly 4.125 x 1.5 inch.
They are rated at 115 Volt A.C. 140 Watts.
They have a 2 piece crimped aluminum shell with
2 leads around 5.5 to 6 inches long. Roughly 3/16"
hole in each corner. I did not test my sample to
destruction so right now I do not know what the top
end is but I do know my sample shot up over 120F
in about 90 ~ 120 seconds in free air.
If encapsulated in silicone RTV compound
( i.e. mold making rubber) or caulk they could be
used in a small etching tank (something that wouldn't
require nearly as much enchant as a tank using a vertical
fish tank heater) You might also bolt one to a piece of 1/8"
aluminum to use as a small hotplate for the `skillet `
method of SMD soldering or as the heating plate for
Toner Transfer.
I'm planning on doing more testing on these this weekend.
I'll have to find out what kind of deal I can get on the
quantity remaining so right now I cant say what the price
might be.
If you think you might be interested, let me know what you
think they would be worth to you as the responses I get will
determine if I buy the remaining quantity or just some for myself.
