Hi all,
I added a couple of finished boards the the Photos section, using my
catalog paper for TT. After etching, I had a few places where copper
shouldn't have been, and I crudely tried to rout out the traces using
the Dremel tool drill press and a router bit...won't do that again.
Also, I won't drill boards while wearing my one-for-close-vision,
one-for-far-vision contacts again. Very poor depth perception through
the flip-down magnifier.
The 2 photos are of a completed sidetone and transmit/receive relay
board; and a low-pass filter board, with 8 relays and a bunch of
silver mica caps to go in on that one. I pre-drilled some alignment
holes in the bottom layer for top layer track alignment for TT'ing the
image. I almost got that one single-sided, but I have one top layer
track each along the two board edges running under the eight relays
supplying power to the coils.
The lettering is pretty clear on both boards, even the + and - symbols
for bottom mounting SMD diodes for each relay coil on the larger,
squarer of the two boards.
One other thing I've noticed. If my boards aren't perfectly free of
chemicals after etching, applying Future brand acrylic floor finish
seals in the chemicals and allows corrosion and discoloration to take
place. Some of that is evident on the sidetone & relay board photo.
Photos are in the Ted-KX4OM album.
Ciao,
Ted
