Hi,
Just done a few more paper tests - these have been added to the Paper
database on the group webpage, but I know not everyone checks that:
- HP C1847A "HP Photo Paper". 210gsm. Apparently goes by the code "Q5437A"
now, US equivalent seems to be "Q5498A".
This stuff is damn near perfect. Lifts off the PCB in one piece when
soaked in cool water (doesn't even have to be warm), with absolutely no
scrubbing required. Leaves no residue. Like Press-n-peel, only without the
peeling. Seven quid RRP for 25 A4 sheets; a total steal compared to PnP.
Does anyone know if the current incarnation of this paper is still just
as good, or has the formulation been changed?
- HP 51634Z "HP Premium Inkjet Coated Paper". I think this is about 90gsm
and seems to have some form of clay-like coating on it. Took some light
rubbing to get the paper off the board, and it left a bit of (easy to remove)
residue. Other than that, no problems. Still not as good as the glossy Photo
Paper though. Word of warning - only one side is coated. The UNcoated side has
a HP logo printed in one of the corners, the coated side does not.
I'm planning to pick up a pack of the HP Photo Paper tomorrow, but before I
do, has anyone else tried it? Is it still just as good as the really old batch
I found in my cupboard?
