Subject: Reusing LaserJet IIIP

Over the weekend, I picked up a nonworking 12-year old HP LaserJet IIIP
laser printer. I was told it needs a new "scanner motor". I am not
sure what that means; I guess it won't scan.
Anyway, I was planning to reuse it for heat/pressure only--i.e.,
as a laminating machine for using the toner-transfer method of PCB
production, instead of ironing by hand.
Is this a good idea, or is it a bad idea?
I know that I need to modify the machine so the PCB material will go
through the rollers in a straight line. Anybody have experience
doing this? Any other comments on this idea ?
