No, the cleaning regimine(sp?) and system are the same. Durabrite inks
seem to be more prone to clogging, so the Durabrite printers seem to
run a lot more automatic cleanings. This does not seem to be the case
with other pigmented inks.
I and many others have been running pigmented inks such as those from
MIS for many, many years in many, many Epson printers, most of which
started out as dye printers.
And no, you -don't- have to run a cleaning cycle every day, nor print
a purge page every day, -if- the printer is clean and any CIS you have
connected is working correctly. Unfortunately 99% of the CIS's out
there are rather primitive and even the makers of them don't
understand how to get them working better than 90%.
