Subject: Update on Press and Peel Blue and new Brother Laser Printer

Some of you may recall that I had very poor success in transferring
toner from my new Brother 2440 Laser Printer. Tecknics Tech support
suggested that I use the iron on its highest setting, as some of the
new laser tones require 350 degrees F.
I tried a board yesterday, first on Staples clay-coated inkjet paper.
After about 4 minutes of max-temperature ironing, I got very good
tranfer, with sharp lines. However, when I soaked the board, in the
lastter stages of rubbing the paper off, a lot of the toner came off
as well, making the board unusable. I think I may not be doing that
right.
I cleaned it with a greenie and acetone, and then tried Press and Peel
Blue. The board came out near-perfect, except around the edges. It
was a thin .032 board, and I was using just the ironing board, when I
should have had a hard support under the board.
I touched up the edges with a Staedtler red pen, and I'll etch it this
afternoon. Notably, I did not have to touch up any of the tracks on
this foil-filled board.
