Subject: Re: [DW8000] DW-8000 Patches

Cool... yeah shoot me the WAV via email... i had considered going through all of them and doing the same thing.

After programming String sounds on a number of other more modern synths, I was heartened to find ∗many∗ lush string sounds in those sets.

This keyboard is also astonishingly good at B3-like sounds. I'm surprised there weren't more trippy sounds in those sets using that digital delay. I have the Poly-800 II and half of my sounds are using/abusing the delay in there. -pc

After I installed the Musitronics turbo pack and wiped out all my patches by mistake, I loaded 8 of these banks in the secured banks of the turbo pack. I was very excited about these sounds until I realized the "secured banks" weren't kept in memory after turning off the unit.

It seems like there is a problem with the expansion that I received and I never got to fix it (even after changing the turbo battery) but I ended up sorting my 64 favorites sounds out of these Pallium's banks. I've had so much fun with these sounds that I haven't been creating new patches since then. I was always impressed by the DW-8000 sound but I am still totally amazed with this set of patches I sorted.

I still have a backup in .wav format so let me know if anyone would like a copy. They are sorted this way:

  1. Brass
  2. Strings
  3. Synths
  4. Pianos
  5. Voices
  6. Organs
  7. Basses
  8. FX

Cheers!

I'm sure that many of you are very familiar with Pallium's patchset downloads for the DW-8000...http://www.pallium.com/bryan/dwpatches.phpIf not, check it out and enjoy some of the unique sounds this instrument can make. There is a patchblock there named "Preload Side B" which is especially good. The patchblock of "Yes" sounds were pretty useful also.I'm on my 3rd DW-8000 in so many years... I'm not sure I'll keep it because those clackity keys always bugged me too much... Has anyone tried to dampen the keyboard action? Is there a Yamaha replacement keyboard that will work?------------------------------------Yahoo!
