Subject: Re: [DW8000] Weird MIDI In Issue

From: Paul Cunningham <paul@...>

Hi -- Chances are that the solder joints on your DW-6000 MIDI jack have broken. Taking the cover off teh top of the DW-6000 is a cinch (small black screws on the bottom). The whole top can be carefully lifted back, and you will see the board that has all the jacks. I'd suggest taking a quick photo (for future reference) and then removing the board, unplugging it from the main board, or at least getting enough access to it to inspect the solder joints and repair. Also check for loose jumpers -- it could be just that. -pc

Hello there,

I recently aquired a DW-6000 off of Ebay.

After a few weeks I tried to load the Factory Presets via MIDI and found the the MIDI In only works when the keyboard is at an angle (of about 45 degrees).

This sounds like a loose connection - can anyone tell me the disassembly procedure or point me in the direction of the service manual?
