Yes, I realize I simplified things by just calling them "sampled"
waveforms. You are right, the waveforms are built from the ground up (in
real time) using harmonic additive synthesis, however the basic
components of these waveforms (presumably sine waves) must themselves
have been sampled, just as they are in the DX7 and other FM synths.
