It might --

The noise generator output can be interrupted by lifting the plus end ofC61 on the voice board (a 10uf capacitor).  The external signal cantheoretically be fed in through this capacitor.  Keep in mind thefact that this cicuit feeds into a dedicated VCA for the noise; you'll have to have noise selected & turned up to hearanything.

Also, some experimentation will be required to find the right level&/or buffering for the incoming signal.

The noise generator is run through 8 paths.. If the noise generator
was disconnected (via switch) and an external input passed instead of
noise, wouldn't that work just as well ?
