Here is the trick about the pulse wave:
For some reason, engineers at Korg decided to
represent the
pulse wave ∗without∗ its fundamental harmonic, i.e.
the underlying sine wave of the same frequency and
amplitude.
Can you guess what a square wave looks like when you
subtract
its fundamental?
