Subject: Re: [DW8000] DW8000 gone kaput? How to find the AC power cable?

Don't know if the cable is your problem -- however:

I've repaired several of these, and the first thing I always do isreplace the power jack with a standard, three-prong computer type jack(available for a couple of bucks at most electronic stores -- not sure ifRat Shack still carries them).  This permanently eliminates thecord-replacement problem.

If you have any experience with soldering/electronics repair, it's a verysimple procedure;  if not, consult someone who knows what they'redoing.

As for other things to look at in your particular case, there is alwaysthe possibility of a dead fuse on the internal fuse board.  If youhave to open the unit up anyway, this is something to check (just be sureto keep track of all those screws -- the DW8000 has more screws than anyother synth I've seen).

I recently purchased a DW8000for a few hundred $$$ to a private

After I set it aside for a few weeks to concentrate on some other
projects and now it is simply not working. No power, no display,
nothing. I don't know what the problem is but I'd like to start with
the simplist solution... the power cable. Anyone know where I can
get one? I've tried Radio Shack and they do mot carry any two
pronged cables in that size.

Any suggestions?
